France, Germany, Ireland, and the UK now have access to Apple’s iPhone 14’s Emergency SOS function.
Now accessible in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Ireland is Apple’s Emergency SOS through Satellite service.
People who are in areas with no accessible cellular coverage may send urgent SOS messages using their new iPhones since they are equipped with a built-in satellite link that allows them to do so. But to access Emergency SOS through Satellite, a user’s iOS version must be 16.1 or later.
To Send an SOS Message Via Satellite in Case of an Emergency
If a user requires the need of assistance and is unable to dial 112, they may already swiftly and simply call emergency services on their iPhone by long-pressing the power and volume keys or by fast pushing the start button five times.
In case a phone user cannot contact emergency services over cellular or Wi-Fi networks, a simple interface will show up on their iPhone to let them get in touch with emergency responders via satellite.
With the help of this cutting-edge technology, users may even communicate their position with Find My via satellite if they lose Wi-Fi or cellular service but do not encounter an emergency. Users of the Find My app may access the Me page, slide up to see their position via satellite, and then press Send My Location.
