This weekend, former presidents and current ones are all converging on Pennsylvania to campaign for their respective candidates in the upcoming midterm elections.
What time is the trump rally on tv tonight 2022
On Saturday at 5:00 pm. ET, Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama will join forces to campaign for Democratic candidates josh Shapiro for governor and John Fetterman for the Senate in Philadelphia.
Donald Trump will be in Latrobe at that time, speaking at a 7 o’clock event for Doug Mastriano, the Republican candidate for governor, and Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Republican candidate for senator.
David Dix, a political consultant based in Philadelphia who has served on Republican and Democratic campaigns, commented on the frenzied last-minute activity, saying, “They don’t call it the Keystone State for nothing,” On Tuesday, “the balance of power in the House and Senate weighs from here in Pennsylvania,” as the saying goes.
The fact that “we make up our mind late and sometimes do divide the ticket among Democrats and Republicans” is “simply another sign that we are a deep purple state,” Dix said.
The outcome of Pennsylvania’s high-profile Senate election might be pivotal in determining chamber control. The Senate is presently controlled by Democrats with Vice President Kamala Harris serving as the tiebreaker, so all the Republicans need is to win one member to take control of the chamber.
“That campaign has been teetering on the brink for a long time,” said Christopher Nicholas, a senior Republican strategist in Pennsylvania.
The average of the polls conducted by FiveThirtyEight shows that Fetterman and Oz are just 0.4% points apart, a narrowing of the margin among them.
Speaking to the hosts of “The View” on Friday, Fetterman first celebrated an 11th-hour praise from Oprah Winfrey, whose daytime program helped establish Oz as “America’s Doctor” in the 2000s. “It’s incredible,” he exclaimed.
By portraying himself as a dedicated public servant in a letter to voters, Fetterman accused Oz of “basically exploiting Pennsylvania” and attempting to purchase a seat.
He said, “There are three topics on which I have devoted my campaign. “Every household in Pennsylvania has discussed these topics at the dinner table.”
Another controversial race on the ballot this year is the contest for governor among Shapiro and Mastriano. It will be the toughest test yet of Trump’s electoral nationalism.
Before the Capitol assault, Republican state lawmaker Mastriano attended Trump’s January 6 rally and repeated the former president’s claims about the 2020 race.
Polling averages compiled by FiveThirtyEight indicated a nearly 10-point deficit for Maastriano in this election.
In his last trip of the year, Biden and Obama will stoke Democratic excitement in a key part of Pennsylvania. Biden has campaigned extensively in the state this year.
Nichols said that “Democrats believe it crucial to vote in the city as often as possible,”, particularly in the black community. To quote the movie, “It’s always a goal for them.”
When combined with his performance in the suburbs around Democratic strongholds like Philadelphia and Pittsburg, Biden was able to defeat Trump in 2020.
Trump rally schedule
While in Pennsylvania, Trump conducted a rally in Wilkes-Barre for Oz and Maastriano back in September. Sources say the former president has a lot to lose by waiting until after the week of Nov. 14 to declare his 2024 candidacy, but that he is already building the groundwork for it.
Dix said that Allegheny County, which is close by, likely has more Republicans registered “than anyplace else in the state,” adding that Latrobe “is the hub of Republican voting.”
Former President Dix: “I absolutely understand the approach and why he opted to gather there,”
